Summer Reading Sizzles. At each grade level students are asked to read at least one summer reading title. Our themes are 6th grade - welcome to Middle School, 7th grade - ecology, and 8th grade - immigration. Students at Marshwood Middle School will share their reading when they return to school in September. We welcome your thoughts on our titles or to share some titles that fit our themes.

What do you think? (after ch.6)
Darrell and his friends made it a rule never to bring adults into their problems, especially teachers. Explain why or why not this "rule" should apply to Darrell's current situation?
They should bring adults into the situation because it will just get worse. The adults could put a stop to bullying if they were brought into a situation.
If there was a problem I would tell an adult because I would be tired of getting bullied. I would tell my dad because he can handle it better that a teacher.
They say that because getting teachers makes them look like wimps. It will just make the bully angrier. Someone always slaps me as much as possible and once I told a teacher and the kids said that was his defense. I didn't do anything!
That's the problem with a bully. You tell a teacher, and they ask them to stop, and they'll pick on someone else. If you fight with a bully, then they will stay away from you.
They shouldn't because they would get called chicks or his mom would tell him just to "smile" like she did. Look where that got him.

ReplyDeleteI think Darrell should drag his uncle in to his problems because he can give him tips and train him to be stronger and punch back at him.

ReplyDeleteMost times teachers or adults do something, but it's not very effective. Other times they make the bully stop, but they just keep coming back!

ReplyDeleteI think an adult should be brought into this situation. Tyray should be punished. Stealing money, hurting Darrell, and verbally bullying is bad.

ReplyDeleteDarrell Mercer said the bully should stop and walk away but tyray would ask darrell not to ask the teacher to not help out at all.
ReplyDeleteDarrell had fight the bully and Darrell broke the bully arm and tyray would still have got to beat darrell but he did not have too
